Blackjack Is Like A Rollercoaster

Tuesday, 7. October 2025

Blackjack is a game that reminds me somewhat of a rollercoaster. Black jack is a game that starts out slowly, but gradually gets faster. As you slowly build up your profit, you feel as though you are getting to the top of the coaster and then when you least expect it, the bottom falls out.

Blackjack is so akin to a wild ride the similarities are ghastly. As is the case with the popular fair ride, your black jack game will peak and things will appear to be going well for awhile before it bottoms out once again. You have to be a bettor that’s able to adjust well to the ups and downs of the game mainly because the game of black jack is full of them.

If you like the small coaster, a coaster that does not go too high or fast, then bet small. If you find the only way that you can enjoy the ride is with a larger wager, then jump aboard for the rollercoaster ride of your life on the monster coaster. The big money player will love the view from the monster roller coaster because he or she is not mentally processing the drop as they rush headlong to the top of the game.

A win goal and a loss limit works well in black jack, but very few gamblers adhere to it. In black jack, if you "get on the rollercoaster" as it’s going up, that’s all lovely, but when the cards "go south" and the coaster starts to twist and turn, you had better escape in a hurry.

If you don’t, you might not necessarily recall how much you enjoyed everything while your bankroll was "up". The only thing you will remember is a lot of uncertainties, a nice ride … your head in the clouds. As you are remembering "what ifs", you won’t clearly recall how "high up" you went but you will be reminded of that mortifying drop as clear as day.
